What version of NAV/BC are you on? I believe it was BC 20 that introduced the ability to copy the line descriptions to the G/L, which would prevent the summarization that you mention above. In the “Sales and Receivables Setup” page, you can enable the “Copy Line Description to G/L Entry” feature which I believe will do what you’re asking.

Yep! I never saw a “close” function when we were on NAV 2017. The process that you described above sounds exactly like what the “Delete Invoiced Purchase Orders” does. Once you get through step 6, you can run this function and it will be removed from your open POs.

You can run the “Delete Invoiced Purchase Orders” function to remove it. It will only delete it if it has been fully received and invoiced.

Something else to note is that the online trial of BC is missing some components (such as Service), where as this On-Prem version is fully featured.

Curious, have you ran the “Post Inventory Cost to G/L” function? We had some outstanding entries here before and experienced odd behavior like you mentioned.

That’s interesting. I just checked in my BC21 environment and don’t have blank entries like that.

Great point! I’m also running BC 20, 21, and 22 now locally for training and testing purposes.

Nope! It’s going to run locally, so you have nothing to worry about. It will install a local copy of SQL Express and configure IIS for you to be able to access the web client, but it won’t impact anything SaaS related.

You can only have two users configured for the trial environment, though.

Good point. We discussed internally and no one could find a reason to have that information in the phone number field instead of the contact card, so we were able to easily export to excel, clean up that field, and move along!
