Highlights

00:38 — After introducing his co-hosts, John kicks it over to Pam to discuss a company she has been paying attention to. Pam references Barbot, a French paint company, that received help from Generix, with its transformation into the digital age.

01:42 — Barbot needed assistance helping reduce the amount of manual paperwork and processing associated with that, shifting completely to digital operations Generix helped them do that. This story relates to a common theme of businesses being “good” at what they do, but may not be good at understanding all the systems that support a business.

In the case of Barbot, the company is good at making and distributing paints, but needed assistance with digital transformation. Pam encourages listeners to identify the aspect of their business that needs to “level up” and find a partner that can help do that. Ryan notes that sometimes, it “is just that simple integration piece…it almost future-proofs your ability to not have to chase 20 different spreadsheets down.”

04:31 — Ryan shares a story about Freedom Financial Network, which is working with OneBackup to further secure confidential information. Before partnering with OneBackup, the Freedom Financial Network knew that “they had sensitive data, but probably had some areas where we [they] weren’t following compliance and best practices.” OneBackup came in and was able to eliminate the “guesswork” associated with this sensitive information.

06:44 — The need for totally secure, protected access, and backups are massively important, says John, given that the last several weeks have proven to be a very disruptive time for the financial services industry.

07:55 — John references a piece from UG Expert Heidi Neuhauser who recently did a deep dive into Microsoft Copilot. “We’ve got to pay attention to this stuff,” he notes. “We’ve got to elevate our ability to understand the impact of generative AI on our jobs, on our businesses, and be in the front seat of this rollercoaster while we’re going through it.” Referencing a recent Business Insider analysis, John notes that the jobs which will be greatly impacted by generative AI are administrative and legal roles.

09:51 — This notion reflects the idea that “what you do today may not be good enough for tomorrow.” We need to be in that ever-evolving way of thinking, says Ryan.

11:18 — Microsoft Copilot, within the context of Dynamics 365, is enabling the world to be able to “lift their heads up from the mundane” and focus on the more strategic, critical, “important” work. Pam notes that users should be eager to look for ways to take advantage of Copilot in a way that complements individual skills. “We’ve got to be cognizant of, we have to be accepting, and we’ve got to be careful,” John concludes.
