Copilot for Sales Mobile Support Available in Preview

This long-awaited feature is finally on the brink of general availability (we hope)! Mobile support is in preview for Copilot for Sales – and it’s an excellent enhancement.
Overview
The introduction of mobile support for Copilot for Sales offers exciting new capabilities for sales professionals on the go. This feature, currently in preview, extends the functionality of Copilot for Sales to mobile devices, enabling users to access key sales tools directly from their smartphones. Supported on both iOS and Android within the Outlook and Teams apps, this mobile version allows for managing CRM records, viewing AI-generated summaries, and more, enhancing productivity and ensuring continuous access to crucial information.
There is one important note that is easy to miss in the documentation… testing it during this preview period is slightly annoying.
If you already have Copilot for Sales installed, you need a fresh install to test it!
Here are the details, straight from the release notes and Microsoft Learn documentation:
“During the preview, if Copilot for Sales was deployed to your organization prior to the mobile support, you must redeploy the app from the Microsoft 365 admin center. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, find the existing Copilot for Sales integrated app and remove it. You can then redeploy the app by following the instructions in the Install Copilot for Sales article.”
Mobile Experience in Outlook
The mobile support for Copilot for Sales within the Outlook experience allows users to effectively manage their sales activities on the go. This integration into Outlook mobile apps on iOS and Android enables sales professionals to access CRM records, view AI-generated insights, and interact with data directly from their email application. This seamless integration ensures that sales personnel can stay updated and responsive, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions and engage with clients effectively, all from their mobile devices. It’s a perfect addition for your sales team on the go.

Unsupported Features
Not all Copilot for Sales features are supported in this release. The following are unsupported in the March General Availability release (source: Microsoft Learn documentation):
- Salesforce sign-in isn’t supported in iOS. As a workaround, you can sign in from the desktop or web version of Outlook and then the mobile version will work.
- Copilot for Sales Outlook app doesn’t load with RTL languages. This is a known issue and no workaround is available currently.
- When selecting the Open in Salesforce link, the home page opens in the browser and not the record page. Salesforce links don’t work on mobile browsers. However, if you have the Salesforce mobile app installed, the record page opens in the Salesforce app in iOS and Android.
- The Saved to CRM tag isn’t displayed in Android for emails already saved to CRM. This is a known Android platform limitation that email categorization feature doesn’t work.
- The Saved to Salesforce tag isn’t displayed in iOS. When an email is saved to CRM using Copilot for Sales, two different tags are generated based on the CRM you’re signed in to. The Tracked to Dynamics 365 tag is displayed when signed in to Dynamics 365 and the Saved to Salesforce tag is displayed when signed in to Salesforce. Both the tags are displayed in the desktop and web versions of Outlook. However, only the Tracked to Dynamics 365 tag is displayed in iOS.
- The Copilot for Sales app doesn’t appear when signed in to multiple accounts in Outlook. Ensure that the account you’re using with Copilot for Sales app is the primary account in Outlook.
Mobile Experience in Teams
One of my favorite things about Copilot for Sales is the data you get inside of Teams. Sadly, some of my preferred features are not supported in this release, which to be fair clearly states that “Copilot for Sales Teams app has mixed support on Teams mobile version.” That said, let’s cover the things you will be able to do within the Teams mobile app.
The integration of Copilot for Sales within the Teams app enhances the mobile experience by enabling sales teams to directly access and engage with CRM data and insights through Teams. This functionality is designed to foster collaboration and streamline communication among team members, allowing them to discuss, update, and strategize directly within the context of their Teams chats and meetings.
A lot of buzz words, but not a lot of delivery – though I suspect it’s coming in future release. There’s not even a screenshot of what this looks like, but it does seem useful when sales reps need to share CRM links inside of Teams.
Unsupported Features
There are two big items on this list:
- The Sales tab with meeting recap, mentions, and details.
- The Sales pill within the Teams recap isn’t available on Teams mobile to see post meeting information.
These are the two best things about Copilot for Sales in Teams, and they are noticeably missing (for now).
Final Thoughts
The introduction of mobile support for Copilot for Sales is a significant step forward in enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of sales operations. These updates will give field sales reps additional tools at the time they need them the most. Unfortunately, they will still have to access Copilot for Sales on their computers to get the full features they need to get everything done. But this is a great start! As general availability approaches, further refinement and expanded features are anticipated, which will continue to transform the mobile sales experience.
