BNA Attending Summit NA 2026 to Unlock the Full Potential of Dynamics 365

After moving to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations three years ago, Nashville International Airport (BNA) has reached an opportunity for transformation. Although the platform is stable, the organization knows it is capable of much more.
As one of the āfastest-growing large-hub airport authorities in the United States,ā BNA oversees a mix of financial, operational, environmental, and organizational responsibilities. In 2022, the airport migrated from its Dynamics AX environment to D365 F&O through a ālift-and-shift migration.ā Despite a successful go-live, BNA was limited in its ability to take advantage of the systemās modern capabilities, as many prior customizations and processes were carried over.
As a result, āshadow ITā posed another challenge. Across areas where employees have found D365 to be limiting, third-party applications have been adopted to fill the void. For leadership members, those third-party tools come with an additional cost and cause disruptions in whatās intended to be an integrated system.
These challenges are exactly why BNA is bringing a 15-person team, across four departments, to Community Summit NA 2026, running October 11-15 in Nashville, TN, to evaluate the ecosystem and define what comes next for the organization.
BNAās Priorities in Attending Summit NA
BNA outlined three key priorities for attending Summit NA. At the top of the list: realizing the true potential of D365 F&O. BNA wants a stronger understanding of what the platform can do when it is built around modern capabilities rather than legacy customizations in order to establish confidence around the ERP.
Secondly, the team wants to modernize through Power Platform, seeking ways to replace manual, paper-based processes with digital workflows. Specifically, bank transfer processing and taxi and limo vehicle inspections are two examples where Power Apps and Power Automate can reduce manual efforts while improving consistency and visibility.
Finally, the third priority is making better use of the organization’s data. BNA creates significant operational, financial, and environmental information, but that data is currently siloed. The attending team wants to understand how tools like Power BI can help consolidate information, improve reporting, and support a stronger data-driven culture.
Group Objectives
For each group attending, the objectives are as follows:
- Finance & Accounting want to streamline workflows and improve reporting
- IT wants to build scalable automation and data infrastructure
- Operations and Environmental leadership want to see how other organizations are using D365 to meet specialized operational needs
Increasing Value of Investments
BNA is attending Summit NA to determine how to derive more value from already-existing technology investments. For the team, Summit NA represents a chance to walk away from the limits of its lift-and-shift migration and take on a modern, integrated environment.
