Embarking on a New Chapter: My Journey as a Microsoft Dynamics Consultant

Dynamics Consultant

Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats – from accounting to teaching English, nail specialist to sales associate, and even Assistant Store Manager. However, deep down, I’ve always harbored a passion for technology, especially now with the flexibility of remote work. I am immensely grateful to TechFluent for giving immigrants like me a chance to pursue our dreams in a new country and language.

My journey into the tech world began with learning programming languages and exploring various roles. I stumbled upon the Microsoft Dynamics 365 products, and it felt like discovering a perfect fit for my aspirations. The excitement of learning something new has been constant since I started as a Junior Consultant.

Over the past four months, I have gained valuable insights that have reshaped my approach to consulting, including:

  1. Understanding Client Needs: Clients often need guidance in understanding what they truly want. It’s our job as consultants to show them the possibilities for improving their systems.
  2. Asking Questions: Asking lots of questions helps us understand what’s blocking our clients and what challenges they face.
  3. Taking Detailed Notes: Clear and descriptive notes are essential for both personal and team reference, enabling us to analyze and learn from our experiences.
  4. Effective Communication: Regular communication with clients helps avoid unnecessary actions and keeps everyone on the same page.
  5. Team Support and Communication: Supporting each other and maintaining great communication within the team are crucial for success because it will create a cohesive environment where individuals feel valued, collaborate effectively, resolve challenges efficiently, and ultimately drive the team toward achieving its goals with unity and clarity.
  6. Dealing with Deadlines: While meeting deadlines is important, it’s okay if things don’t always go according to plan. Stressing out won’t help, so it’s important to keep calm and be open with the client about any challenges you have faced. Offer solutions to mitigate delays. Conversely, if ahead of schedule, inform them promptly for planning. Open communication builds trust and positive relationships, even amidst challenges.
  7. Problem-Solving Skills: When faced with challenges, it’s vital to take initiative in understanding and resolving the issue independently. However, don’t hesitate to seek assistance from colleagues or managers when necessary. Additionally, the Dynamics Community stands as a reliable resource, ready to lend support and guidance to anyone encountering difficulties.
  8. Sharing Ideas: Sharing ideas with the team can lead to innovative solutions and project success.
  9. Accepting Feedback: Being open to feedback helps us grow both professionally and personally.
  10. Continuous Learning: Learning never stops in the tech world, and it’s an exciting journey despite the occasional exam setback.
  11. Community Resources: There are plenty of resources and communities out there to support us in our learning journey.

I’m truly enjoying the work I’m doing, whether it’s business analysis or diving into the developer side of things. It’s what motivates me to wake up each morning with excitement. A big thank you to my amazing managers – Ashley Steiner, Jason Bell, and Ed Martinez – for their guidance and support.

In conclusion, transitioning into a new career path can be challenging, but with the right support and mindset, it’s a journey filled with growth and fulfillment. Here’s to embracing new opportunities and continuing to learn and evolve in the dynamic world of technology.
