While on-site at Community Summit North America 2023, Dynamics Communities Editor Cam Sessinger interviewed Kim Dallefeld, Community Summit Legend, Microsoft MVP, and CEO/Senior Consultant, Dallefeld Consulting. In this discussion, Kim describes how she entered the Microsoft Business Applications space, and her impressions of Community Summit.
01:18 — Kim was trained on the Business Central software in 1996, and has taken on roles as an end-user, a partner, and an independent contractor. Over time, as she became more experienced with the software, she began attending local meetings and what was then known as Convergence. She never looked back and has been a part of the Community since.
04:44 — For those who are looking to become more involved in the Community, Kim shares her advice:
- Reach out to experienced users
- Find ways to start presenting, as an individual or co-presenter
- Volunteer your knowledge at the Medic Desk
06:14 — Lastly, Kim speaks to the evolution of the Microsoft Business Applications space. For Business Central specifically, “it’s night and day from where we were.” Being that Business Central is now cloud-based, the automatic updates two times a year have been the biggest “historical trend.” Of course, another impactful trend is the infusion of artificial intelligence and Microsoft Copilots into all products.
