Getting Started with Business Central Jobs
Jobs in Business Central gives users a lot of capabilities for tracking internal and external jobs. It is included as part of all Business Central environments. During this presentation, I discuss the structure of how jobs are set up in Business Central and how the jobs area can be used in order to monitor your performance on internal and external jobs.
After viewing this session, you will understand…
- How to set up Jobs, Job Tasks, and Job Planning Lines in Business Central
- How to record costs to Jobs in Business Central (from Purchase Orders, Purchase Invoices, the Job Journal, and the Job G/L Journal)
- How to invoice customers from Jobs
- How to calculate WIP for Revenue Recognition—although I don’t go into all of the details of how WIP is calculated, this needs another session in and of itself
