How the 14th Largest City in the US Completed an ERP Rollout with OnActuate
Discover what the City officials had to say in OnActuate’s case study video on Project ELEVATE.
In one of the largest Microsoft Dynamics rollouts in the U.S. Public Sector, the City of Columbus (the City) partnered with OnActuate to increase overall system performance and response time.
As the nation’s 14th most populous city with a $1 billion annual budget, Columbus has always been in a state of growth and was recognized as the top American city to work in tech by SmartAsset in 2019.
Columbus adopts an innovative mindset towards life and business. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the City was already aiming to achieve ambitious technology objectives “the Columbus way,” which is to inspire one another and make ground-breaking accomplishments.
Megan Kilgore is the City Auditor of Columbus and highly values collaborative partner relationships for technology projects.
Technology has been reshaping government for as long as we know, and it’s not going to stop,” said Auditor Kilgore. “The one thing that we can be certain about is that we have the right partners in place.”
Project ELEVATE, the upgrade to cloud-hosted Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, was completed during the global pandemic with the help of OnActuate’s globally dispersed team, which enabled the project to continue around the clock without disruption or further exhausting the City’s limited resources. In less than 16 months, the City upgraded from AX 2012 R3 to cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations (D365FO) and implemented OnActuate’s innovative Vendor Collaboration and Cashiering solutions.
The successful completion of this project allowed the City to benefit from reduced customizations and extended solutions for point-of-sale and procurement.
