Is there a way to have a custom visual always be available for use in power bi? I have a custom doughnut chart I like to use in lieu of the standard visual, but each time I want to use it, I re-download it. I’d like to it to be available anytime I open power bi (and be able to have my co-workers do the same)

      Hi Sam:

You R-Click on it once you get it in your PBIX file. Then it’s saved to your visual gallery.

      Thanks,

      Bill S

In addition to Williams excellent and correct solution, you can access the visuals directly @Ā ?https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps?product=power-bi-visuals&page=2 and you can copy the visuals directly to a folder on your PC.Ā  Very useful as sometimes visuals are retired from appsource.

      Hi Ben:

That’s a great tip I didn’t know. I do notice at times that some visuals seem to get retired.

      Have a nice day.

Hi William, the great thing about lurking on forums (if you have the time) is that you can find out so many new things!! – thanks to you too.

      Hi Ben:

I wanted to reply earlier and lapsed on this. Yes I agree! The collective brainpower is excellent!
      Have a nice day.

      Best regards,

      Bill

I also found in the power bi admin portal there is a spot to load custom visuals, and the option to share the visuals with everyone in your organization, so that the visual is loaded for everyone when they open power bi. If you have a visual that’s left appsource, you can back into the a pbix file that has it, and copy the visual out of it and repackage into a standalone power bi visual file.Ā
