      Hello,

Can anybody provide advice on the best education / certification paths to work more with Microsoft Dynamics GP and CRM? I enjoyed my last role as a CFO with heavy IT/Operations work because I got to research and implement GP, O365, and was eventually going to deploy SharePoint and CRM. I’m looking to groom myself to eventually work with a Microsoft Partner, which is why I’m curious whether anybody has suggestions for education or certificates that either a Microsoft Partner or a Microsoft shop (an end user of Dynamics, etc.) would be receptive to seeing on my resume.

If it helps to narrow down suggestions, my LinkedIn profile has more information about the kind of work I have excelled at. Feel free to take a look, and thanks in advance for any suggestions!

      Brant,

Have you looked into the Association of Dynamics Professionals? They administer quite a number of certifications that could be what you’re looking for.

      Brant,

Speaking as someone that has made the leap from Accounting Department end user to VAR Consultant, I found the GP certifications very helpful.  Additionally, I found getting certified in SQL server, specially the two tests for Querying SQL Server and Administering SQL Server.

Hope this helps and good luck,

      Hello Barry,

Thanks for suggestions on the certifications. I appreciate the feedback. The SQL suggestion helps since I was considering getting certified. SQL seems to come up the most in job interviews. I had it in college but did not need to use it in my last role. I reviewed some Lynda.com and Pluralsight.com videos and it came back fairly quick. Maybe, I could complete one of these certifications fairly quick. That should help keep the cost down until I land a role.

      Thanks Again,

      Brant Paquette
