We dont have budget set up as its manual check in workflow

Workflow condition : if its within budget approver will  check manually in budget and if its within budget will approve and will follow process A, Otherwise process B

Any suggestion to add this condition

I am going to ask you for a little bit of clarification. 

1. Are you looking to approve the budget itself or something else based off the budget?

2. You say you don’t have budget set up. What are you trying to approve? 

For example, if you are trying to approve Purchase orders based on a budgeted amount that was clarified outside of the system that requires a manual check before a PO can be submitted. 

Please let us know a few more details.

Since budget is in excel

Once PR is created, manually check that its within Budget, If yes will follow process A for approval and if its not under budget or over budget then follow different approval process under the PR workflow

Its like adding a condition and approval in PR workflow

Hi Najeem,

You can use the Purchase requisition workflow in Procurement and sourcing > Setup > Procurement and sourcing workflows > Purchase requisition review. 

It can be a pretty simple workflow, like as seen below:

Since you are just sending it out for approval, you don’t even need to have dependencies in the system for it, just that it exists. 

Create the dialog in basic settings to alert your approvers that they have to approve or reject based upon criteria specified. 

Your approver will see this when they review the workflow on the Purchase requisition:

Hope this helps! A workflow based on external criteria doesn’t need to be complex as you are asking your reviewers to look outside the system for validation.

In our business process instead of rejection follow the another approval process, How can we give that condition and direct the workflow to another approval process if its not in budget

Hi Najeem,

You can add a manual decision as the first step of your workflow. Yes or No would have to be decided by the workflow designee. From there, you can build additional workflows off each branch. 

When the workflow gets assigned, the manual decision will be made and then kick off the next workflow based on decision made (Yes or No in my example). 

In my example, I selected No, which kicked off my more complex workflow. This sent a workflow to the workflow designee to Approve or Reject the purchase requisition.

Once PR is submitted and/or approved, its not going on next step. I have to keep pushing  PRs for next step through AOT, Forms -> Tutorial workflow processor

Do you have the workflow batch jobs set up and running? Those are what will push the workflows automatically to the next steps in the process.

Yes Kelly, workflow batch job is set up and pointing to test AOS. How can I check its running

System admin -> batch job -> 
Workflow – batch group. Batch server is TEST AOS

under the batch job;
Inquiry -> batch

Status : Waiting
Actual start date and end date is blank
Progress : 0

please advise anyother place or set up require to be check or tested

Go to sys admin > setup > system > service accounts

What is the userid in the workflow service account?

If you go to sys admin > users > users and search by that workflow service account in the userid column does it show up? If so, is it enabled?

Finally workflow is live and all notifications are working except at manual decision email notification created but failed under the email sending status
