      Hi,

We have a sales order of 10 lines and out of 10 lines we delivered and invoiced 6 lines and now 4 lines status is Open order and Header status is Open Order.
Now I want to cancel all open order lines at the same time and make it header status is Invoiced.so I tried to cancel the option from the Action pane Sales order–> Cancel but its showing below message

You can cancel sales order lines only if the line quantity has not been processed for delivery. The sales order xxxxxxxxxxxxxĀ  is partially canceled and the status is Invoiced.

We had the same issue at one point and used the ‘deliver remainder’ option to resolve it.

Of the four lines you didn’t ship, select one and then click the ‘Update Line’ button. Select ‘deliver remainder’ and then set it equal to zero. This is pretty much telling the system you don’t want to ship these lines anymore.

You would have to do this for each individual line but once you do this the order status should go to invoiced. If you ever wanted to go back and ship those lines, I believe you can just click in to the deliver remainder option again and update to restore the original line quantity.Ā

      Hope this is helpful.

      Hi Nicholas,

      Ā Thanks for your reply.

Your suggestion is our current practice but in a real scenario, we have orders of 300 lines and sometimes we delivering only 80 lines so now need to do the cancel delivery remainder for the remaining 220 lines. It’s very difficult that’s why am looking for a solution to cancel all remaining open sales order lines at the same time.

      Abrar,Ā
This is just an information message and not a hard stop. The message states the order is partially cancelled and the status is Invoiced. The order should have an Invoiced status now. We see this message during our cancellation process and it doesn’t stop us.

      Hi Abrar,

I’m familiar with your situation & our company runs into this same problem often.Ā  Ultimately, we had to custom program a tool to allow all lines on the Sales Order to be canceled without needing to click each line & cancel the Deliver Remainder one by one.Ā  Unless you also customize this, I believe the only other way to get your sales orders to a status of Invoice, Invoiced is using the Cancel Deliver Remainder method.

      Hi Britta,
Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Thanks for the suggetsion. We planned to make a customized batch job for close pending sales order open lines but still am looking for a standard system process.D365 Customizations makes a lot of issue with existing functionality :-).

You’re doing the correct process, and is exactly correct.Ā  When you click “Cancel” button on the SO header, it tries to cancel all lines on the sales order.Ā  It obviously can’t cancel lines that have shipped, but it does cancel lines that were not shipped / you have not started the shipping process against.Ā  So the info log is telling you this, it couldn’t cancel the shipped lines, but it canceled everything it could and now the SO is in status “invoiced”.Ā

      Hi Colby,

A warning message is clear but still, it’s not canceling open order lines that are the issue and the status is still Open Order only.
Status changing as Invoiced only after cancel(deliver remainder) the item line wise.

If it’s not cancelling the line or setting it to status Invoiced, then you have a quantity still in process for delivery, either released to warehouse on a load line, open on warehouse work, a picking route is created, or the line is Picked and not yet invoiced.

      Hi Colby,

Sorry for the late reply…I think you are correct we customized the sales order process so after adding the order in the load planning workbench it’s not allowed to cancel the order but it allows to cancel the items by line deliver remainder cancel qty.
