Dear all,

Recently I came across an issue. In Planned Orders we have Time of order and Receipt Time. I know that the receipt time is set in master plan parameters but I do not know where the time of order is set?
lets assume that the receipt date is 10:00 AM, if I run MRP at 11:0 AM (Lead time=0) the order is placed at the same day or it will be moved to tomorrow?
what are the other businesses behind these two times?

Hi Mohammad,
Start time in calculating delays: Use this field together with Delay messages and rescheduling of planned orders. If the planned receipt time is later than the specified delay time, one day is added to the futures date. Therefore, the items are first available one day later

Planned orders Receipt time is used to enter the time that is automatically assigned to all planned orders that are generated. Master scheduling calculates planned production orders backward from this time. The time is also important for calculating Futures dates and messages for planned orders. This field makes sure that production orders are received in inventory in time, and that the item can be packed and sent by the requirement date. The receipt time is automatically transferred to the respective production orders and planned production orders when they are created. Therefore, job scheduled planned production orders are (as a part of the Master scheduling process) planned backward from the delivery time.

Example: Interaction of Receipt Time and Future Messages

This example shows how Receipt time and Futures messages parameters can interact in the scheduling of planned production orders.

Today’s date is January 1. The Receipt time in Master planning parameters is 12:00 and the Futures time is set at 13:00.

A sales order has a delivery date of January 10. A planned order is created to cover the requirement. The planned production that is job scheduled is scheduled to be finished on January 10. The planned production order is scheduled backward from the 12:00 Receipt time on January 10 and is scheduled to start on January 6 at 15:00.

 

One of the raw materials (R1) needed for the planned production order has a lead time of seven days and is unavailable until January 7. Therefore, the planned production order has to be rescheduled to start on January 7. Because the Update planning field in the Master plans form, Futures Messages tab, is selected, the Futures message that results from the delayed arrival of item R1 triggers a rescheduling of the planned production order forward from R1’s delivery date.

The planned production order is now scheduled to be finished on January 11 at 14:00.

 

However, because the Futures time is set to 13:00, and the production order will not be finished until 14:00, one day is added to the Futures date and the finished production order is available for delivery one day later on January 12.

The receipt time is an assumption.  Planning assumes that if the order is placed today it will be recieved at 10.  Job scheduling uses this to determine material availability.
The fact that the PO was confirmed at 11 does not matter, only the receipt date on the PO.

Interestingly Job scheduling does not consider current time, only current date.  If you run Job scheduling at 0900 it may schedule some production at 0600. It assumes all inbound material will be available at 10 and all production relying on today’s deliveries will not begin until after 10.
