?We are doing testing to go-live with RF Smart in a few weeks.Ā  We are on AX 2012 R2.

We need to use all 3 flushing principles and we are having trouble getting the “Finish” flushing principle to work how we think it should.Ā  We are using the “Start” flushing principle to create a picking list for our Material Handlers to pick items from the warehouse.Ā  We are using the “Manual” flushing principle to create a custom pick list for our production leads to pick items located in their departments.Ā  Then we want to use the “Finish” flushing principle to backflush hardware items that we don’t want to pick.

Our assumption is that when we do the Report As Finish workflow, a pick list would be created and posted to consume these hardware parts.Ā  We are unable to figure out how to get the pick list to be created and posted.Ā  We are now receiving the message

What parameters do we need to change to get this picking list to create, or the material to be consumed automatically?

      Hi Amy,
This usually means AX is expecting the item to have been consumed, so maybe there was a picking list that never got reported for that item so it’s saying how can we finish if we never reported our full materials?Ā

      These blogs may help:
Quantity reported as finished exceeds the quantity started. Item number *** has not been completely released in AX

Report as finished error – AX User Forum – Dynamics AX Users – DUG

Do you have any open picking lists or perhaps you posted picking lists already but without the “End” checkbox selected so it’s expecting more to be reported for that material based on the estimated quantity.

      Hi Amy,

Not sure if this will help but we often see this error from the Process > report as finished

To get around it, you can go into the general tab and tick the Accept error tick box before you click OK.

I’m not sure exactly what happens when this is ticked, but that is how we have done it since AX4, and we haven’t had any problems from it.

If this works for you, you can make it default by clicking on the Default values button at the bottom, and Ticking the accept error tick box there and clicking OK, then it defaults to ticked all the time.Ā  Each user would need to do this to work for them.

      Hope this helps

Thank you Elliott and Andrew for the comments!Ā  We were able to figure it out.Ā  We had an incorrect check box on the start production order screen and the report as finished default values needed to be changed.

      Thanks!
