AX 2012 importing budget through DIEF/DIXF
Posted by Amy Axness on April 21, 2017 at 10:09 am-
I am working on importing our budget through the DIEF/DIXF framework inĀ AX 2012 R2 CU6.Ā I have been able to get this to work forĀ two of our financial dimensions sets, but am getting an error message on the third.
The first dimension set is for ourĀ sales and cost of sales accounts, and we only budget 2 of the 5 financial dimensions, so the LedgerDimension is 41000-119B–.Ā I am able to get this to import successfully.
The second dimension set is for expenseĀ accounts with no financial dimensions attached, so the LedgerDimension is 89800.Ā I am also able to get this to import successfully.
The third dimension set is for Expenses with departments,Ā so the LedgerDimension is 53200-510.Ā Here is the error message I am receiving “Financial dimension valueĀ 510 does not exist.”Ā Ā I am able to type in this LedgerDimension directly in the Budget Register Entry and it does work there.
Here are the items I have reviewed:
1) The financial dimension values are assigned to the company I am importing.
Ā2) The financial dimension is set up as a budgeting dimension.
3) I can manually enter this combination in the budget register entries.
Has anyone else had this problem?Ā Any suggestions on how get this fixed?
Thanks!——————————

I have to admit I had issues with importing using DIEF so I ended up importing using the Excel add-in – normally I stay away from it too much as it’s a little finicky but for ledger and budget and the dimension references, I found it easier than DIEF. Ā Just a thought.

We use Atlas for the budget import and it has not had any issues but do not have a budget only dimension——————————

We had issues with the financial dimensions using DIXF as well. Ā We ended up using the Excel Add-in and it worked fine.
There’s a blog out there with the instructions on how to do it in Excel.
Thanks,

For future reference Amy, I’m almost positive that issue was resolved in CU7.Ā DIXF is generally better at handling larger data volumes than Excel Add-Ins but as you undoubtedly found, Excel can be a handy alternative.Ā Glad you found something that works.——————————

Hi Amy,
I’m almost positive I’ve seen this in CU6 before and that it’s a bug resolved by a hotfix.Ā I can’t seem to find the bug/KB number in LCS though.
