Hello, We are using BC 14 on premise.
We get NOTHING TO POST when trying to do a “Direct Transfer” Transfer Order.
First we got an error indicating that we did not have an inventory posting setup for an empty location even though we specified the Transfer-From and Transfer-To locations. I created the setup for an empty location and tried again resulting in NOTHING TO POST.
I remember trying this feature a few years back when it was first introduced and could never get it working. I wanted to see if anyone has been successful using this feature in BC14 or earlier versions on BC or NAV. I noticed that newer versions of BC have some new related fields in Inventory Setup.

One of my clients also had the issue with needing to set up the blank location in the Inventory Posting Setup. It appears that even though you are using direct transfer, the system is still going through the normal transfer order process where it moves the product from the Transfer-From location to the Intransit Location and then to the Transfer-To location. Since the intransit location is blank for direct transfers, the system errors unless you have the blank location set in the posting setup. Bad design. The direct transfer feature should bypass that part of the code and transfer the inventory directly from the “from” location to the “to” location.
