One Dynamics One Platform
Microsoft vision of “One Dynamics One Platform” would become reality across user personas such as One Administrator, One User Experience, One User Runtime, and One Insights using technologies/tools such as Dual-Write, Virtual Entity, Connector, One Batch, PPAC etc. One Dynamics One Platform focuses on the convergence of Finance and Operations apps with Microsoft Power Platform, enabling customers to take full advantage of Power Platform with each Finance and Operations environment, Customer Engagement, Field Service, Sales and Marketing, Project operation etc.
The main beneficiaries of ODOP will be One Developers, One Administrators, One Business Users & One Insight.
One Developer
In the One Developer feature, Microsoft provides the best tool and experiences, such as power platform tools for visual studio and power platform CLI, to make the development process more manageable. The One Developer environment is provisioned from PPAC.
One Admin
Transitioning all administration activities into a single platform powered by Power Platform Admin Centre (PPAC) instead of Lifecycle Services Portal (LCS).
One User
To work on multiple Dynamics 365 applications, one must switch across the applications. These applications have different user interfaces and need time and efforts to get accustomed to the look and feel of the application. With One Platform One Dynamics vision, Microsoft aims to provide consistent user experience in terms of UI and runtime.
One Insights
The reporting & analytics play very important role for every business, and it is more crucial for the user to visualize the data. Microsoft’s vision to make this simpler and more effective to work with data. Independent of Dynamics 365 app, data should be possible to export in near real-time to an Azure Data Lake powered by Synapse Analytics for materializing views according to Common Data Model- format. Moreover, unlocking various analytics scenarios such as virtual entities or physical data warehouse capabilities and/or data lake house architectures to Common Data Model format. Power BI will get stronger and Synapse link for Data verse will get better. Although various analytical patterns have been available for quite some time, Synapse Link for Data verse is being brought forward as the primary investment area for democratizing data across Dynamics 365 workloads.
