How to Handle Commodity Pricing in D365 – A Customer Case Study

Session Overview: In this session, Mill Steel and Logan Consulting will explain how they developed a solution for the unique requirement of handling commodity pricing from both a sales and purchasing perspective. Mill Steel has pricing agreements with both vendors and customers that rely on a commodity index to establish pricing. The price can vary from week to week, month to month, quarter to quarter, etc. Together, they have built the index into the system and reference that to adjust pricing based on time frame and other definitions like (average, total, lag period, etc.) This provides dynamic pricing that can adjust as the market adjusts.
