Addressing Warehouse Management Limitations through Process Adaptations, Not Customization
In this session, we’ll delve into the common challenges faced in a D365 implementation and explore how to overcome them without relying on costly customization. Advanced warehouse management has gaps, this is true for existing operations as well as those looking at implementing D365 as their WMS. Many organizations will perform a gap analysis before a system migration using the old process as a template for the new system, resulting in a slew of system gaps. In this session we will show you how to minimize these gaps by looking at redesigning the process around the new system. We will share some examples of organizations that fell into a customization culture and are paying for support, more customization, and lucrative testing to roll out the latest updates. At the end of the session, you should be able to understand when customization is getting out of hand and how to remedy it by prescribing a different solution.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how to maximize the value of D365 in a piece picking warehouse operation using process changes.
- Understand the long-term impact of a system implementation and how to avoid common pitfalls in your industry.
- Be able to identify shortcomings of warehouse management, how to escalate and solve them while waiting for new feature updates.
