We have a slicer for date and it is set to between for a date range. The slicer is displaying correctly for most end users in the Power BI service, but for some end users it displays as a drop down. regardless of the web browser. Has anyone seen this? How can this be corrected?

Power BI Service allows the user to change the slicer type, depending on how the report is set up. It is possible your affected users changed the slicer type at some point without realizing it.Ā
Another possibility is that they are accessing the wrong version of the report somehow.Ā Or there is a caching issue with the browser. Although if they see the same thing two different browsers, that is likely not the case.Ā
Very odd. Let us know what you find out because this is a curious one!

?The end user didn’t change the slicer type. He is using Firefox as his web browser. The only way we could get this slicer to change is to delete the slicer and publish to Power BI web service; then add date range slice back and publish.
How bizarre! Glad you got it figured out.Ā I have seen odd things where something seems to get “stuck” and will not budge unless you do exactly as you did.Ā Never this specific problem though.
