Is there any way to show negative values with parentheses in Power BI without changing it to text?

There sure is!Ā
Go to the Model view (where relationships are built and viewed)
Select the column that you what to control the format on
Expand the Formatting group in the Properties well
In the Format drop down, scroll down to the bottom and select Custom
That will activate new fields Custom format (to select a built in standard format) and a empty box below that where you can enter formats similar to Excel
I use #,##0.00;(#,##0.00) to get credit values like -1013.50 to display like (1013.50)
Now go and check that visual!
