      Hi

I’m trying to follow the announcements from the MSBizAppsSummit in Atlanta and seen in the PowerApps docs that PowerApps are finally going to be shareable with external/guest users. The PowerApps Portal looks like it’s going to make this even easier.

Anyone else very excited about this? This could be a massive game changer for PowerApps!

      Hi James

Indeed it is very exciting. As it is said “devil is in the detail”, the capabilities expectations are pretty high and it will interesting to watch the response. It would probably take couple of releases to match up.

      Definitely exciting stuff!

This hopefully is something “extranet”-companies have been waiting for / have been creating workarounds for.

Let’s hope the “portal” can integrate with already present content (instead of duplicating it ??)

Kinda curious as to how licensing would work for this considering that it only works for data in CDS?

My understanding as far as creating apps on top of the CDS is:
Ā  App creator needs PowerApps Plan 1/2 (depending on entities required)
Ā  Any user that consumes the App needs PowerApps Plan 1/2.

If external users don’t need a PowerApps license to consume these apps, how does this work?

We don’t use CDS. This would be FAH-bulous if we could use SharePoint or SQL Server as a data source. Sigh.
