      HiĀ

The opening lines of David Yacks Whitepaper “Administering a PowerApps Enterprise Deployment” published by Microsoft recently (Administering a PowerApps enterprise deployment – PowerAppsĀ – July 2018) reads:

“PowerApps is a high-productivity application development platform from Microsoft. the platform is used by Microsoft to build their own 1st part applications Dynamics 365 for Sales, Service, Field Service, Marketing and talent”…

I agree with the essence of this sentiment and have no reason to doubt that it is true. Yet a search for development best practices for PowerApps yields little substantive results. Should we just assume that best practices are those we already know from the Dynamics 365 development world or are there patterns and practices, learning and DevOps techniques that the Microsoft teams can share with the wider community here?

Are there any developers lurking in this community who might enlighten us:

“the best time to shine is when all around is dark..”

      Regards

      Adrian

      Hi Adrian!

I am not aware of any one document for dev best practices. There are multiple blog posts (not all by Microsoft) that contain tips/tricks. I can reach out to the product group to see if they are planning anything like this, but the best way to get their attention is through the PowerUsers forum and have all of your friends and family ‘vote’ the idea up. šŸ™‚

Searching for “powerapps mehdi” will get you blog posts by one of our best PowerApps UX resources and he has a few best practice type posts. Audrie is also someone who does a lot of this type of posting.
      Hope this helps!

I searched for “best practices” and didn’t find a single “ah ha!” resource, but here are some of the resources I’ve found.Ā  I’ve taken some ideas from each of them.Ā

Note: PowerApps is ever-evolving, so some information in these articles, videos and posts may not be applicable anymore.

Hope at least one of these offers something new to you.

      -Jamie
