Has anyone had experience with Power BI Premium? I work and a mid-sized school district and we have used Power BI for several months, but now we are looking to bring this to scale for the district. The little research I have started (and will continue) indicates that this is the way to go where the majority of users will be consumers of the dashboards, not creators. Thoughts? Thank you all in advance.

There is a cross over point where it makes sense to move to Premium.   When the volume of total users is low and the performance of the PBI is good, it makes more sense to purchase Pro licenses for everyone.

?I’d strongly suggest using the license calculator on the Power BI website. It’s a bit ofĀ a fiddle for small volumes, but it will give you a good yardstick comparison and will enable you to plan forward by putting in projected numbers. Beyond that you’d be better talking to MS on best cost to scale options.

Today during the Microsoft Data Insights Summit, James Phillips, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Business Applications, Platform and Intelligence (BAPI) organization, announced the general availability of Power BI Premium.

I have been recently told by Microsoft that this sku exists but is not part of the Calculator. You have to talk to a Microsoft account director or to your reseller.
