So to start with really sorry if this has been covered before, but…

I’ve set up a few apps using the new Workspace preview feature, but I’ve lost the ability to see the usage stats for any of the reports.

Is this just me or does anyone know a work-around?

Hi Andy,

Since New App Workspace is still in preview that might be the reason, previously with Old Workspace you can see the usage metrics of each Report / Dashboard from the usage metrics;

Now with new App Workspace experience, creating / sharing App experience has been changed & task related to administrator point of view have been moved out as well like usage metrics, leaving working.

Usage metrics is available through Setting -> Admin Portal -> Usage Metrics, which is more of a administrator task to keep an eye on usage

Hope this will help you understand, as New App Workspace experience is still in preview Microsoft is more focused on administrating the workspace & App distribution, may be later on they will add Usage Metrics as well.

Personally I have never found the usage stats to be that good, I usually recommend consuming the log data from o365 audits and creating your own model and report to display this. This also applies to understanding usages of other areas of o365 teams, skype, exchange etc

Hi David,

But this will require Office365 Admin permission to be able to read audit logs.

It would be a good activity if you can find one of your developer develop the usage reports customized using O365 Audit logs & then distribute it within organization.

the out of box usage stats are limited to 30days only. Customer of mine wants to see it 90days back. 
Is there a way to access the dataset behind these Usage Stats, seems like that with new workspaces the dataset is somehow hidden.

Hi,

You need to check Office365 Audit logs & then develop your customized report.

You also need to store those audit logs so you can go back in time.
