I have a dataflow which has multiple transformation steps, and my one of the steps (shown belwo) named “Invoke Custom Function”, now throws an Expression Error, 

 

I did tried to go through the entire query by copying it from the ADVANCED EDITOR and pasting it in notepad and used the (FIND) functionality of notepad to look for the column named EWR_Planner, but this column does not exist in the entire query. 

 

How do I get rid of this expression error from my dataflow

Hi ,

I think that the file you used to create this function, has the column ‘EWR_Planner?’ and the actual data file is missing that column.

Another thing could be that the case of the column name. Since Power Query is case sensitive your custom function and the acutal data might have a case mismatch.

So please have a look at it.

Hi Zahid, to get rid of the expression error, you can delete that step (x next to your cursor in your screen shot) but you have to be careful that it doesn’t impact other steps or if that data is not required in other parts of the report. Also possible that it could have been renamed.
