Is it possible for app consumers to export data from the table in Power Bi report, published inside app, into csv?
We want to share reports through the app to prevent consumers from “accidental” report editing. Some of the reports contains tables. We would like consumers to be able to export the table in the csv within an app.
Is there another options to share reports, with no-editing by consumers and permission to export data to csv at the same time?
Everyone has a Power Bi pro Licence Thank you

Hello,
by default it is possible with the export data function (click … on the upper right corner of the table):
But as mentioned in that box there are some limitations regarding the number of records which can be exported. In the tenant settings it is possible to restrict that function only to specific user groups.
Best regards, Martin

HiĀ ,?
Just to add to what said, .csv has a limitation of exporting only the first 30,000 rows while if you use excel the limitation is about 150,000.
Just a pointer, before you make any decision.
Thank you,?

The “export data” was enabled in the admin portal.
From the Report published in the Workspace I can export data into csv or excel:
The same report was published in an app, and there is no option to Export data:
Is it possible to enable “Export data from an App table”?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes this is possible, too. When you are using the default settings it should be possible, too. But additionally to the admin settings you can define on report level the export behaviour:

The original report was published in the Workspace, that I was a member of, not an owner. I republished the same report from the desktop into workspace, for which I am the owner, and made an app out of it. The export data is available from the app now!!!

Also you can set the same setting on .pbix file itself a s well
Setting is based on each fileĀ
Go to File -> Options & Settings -> Options -> Current File -> [Allow end users to export both summarize & underlying data from the service or Report Server]
