Please can somebody help me out?

I am trying to create a PowerApp linked to a SharePoint list with Offline capability.

Ultimately, the list will contain loads of fields, but, for testing, I have created a simple Sharepoint List with 2 fields (“Field1” & “Field2”)

I have looked at a YouTube video from Daniel Cristian which gives me some idea, but, this seems to be created using an SQL databse for the list.

Every way I try to manipulate the PowerApp I have created, I cannot get this to work.

Does anybody know if there is a “Dummies Guide” to creating a PowerApp linked to a SharePoint list with offline capability?

Basically, I need to create a form with the fields in it & then, if not connected, store in a temporary place to update the list when connected.

It sounds like it should be relatively simple, but, I cannot make it work

      TIA
      Greg

Hi Greg – The best spot to hold this kind of data until you are able to upload to SharePoint is to utilise your collections within PowerApps.Ā

This blog fromĀ Saurabh Pant is great and caters for common data connections including SharePoint. They do use CDS in the example but it is the same process.

      Good luck!

      Hi

I did something similar a few months back.

The following article is what I used to get me through this process

      Hope it helps!

Thanks to both of you for thise links, it does seem to be a bit more complex than I first thought, but, I now get the basic understanding

All I need to do now is work out the full function parameters & make it work.

If I get stuck, I may be back with more requests for advice

      Hey Greg,

I found one in the documentation itself. Check it out here, doesn’t seem that complex.

Give it a try, let me know if you get stuck.

      Regards,
      Dhawal

      Hi Dhawal

Thanks for that link, I think it is one of the many I was looking at when I first started playing around with this.

At the moment, the project is on the back burner as I spent way too much time trying to do this, so the App is working, but only when connected direclty to the SharePoint list & the users cannot use it if they dont have a signal.

I will go back to working this out when I have more time, so the input ix valuable

      Greg

I haven’t done this but the book ‘Beginning PowerApps’ has a chapter (16) covering this but it uses CDS.
