?Hi PBI community. I’ve stumbled across something that is causing me to scratch my head in wonder. I’m hoping someone has seen this kind of issue and is capable of providing me support.

I created a master data set in Power BI and use that dataset to drive all my reports. Its great, one dataset gets refreshed multiple times through out the day, and drives about 5 reports. We went through the correct procedures of creating a workspace and ironing out all the wrinkles in the reports and felt confident about publishing the report collection as an App.Ā  Here is where things went sideways.

Once the app was published, some of the visuals no longer work. Here is the below data error that I get:

This is bizarre, because it works at the workspace level and desktop level. We haven’t configured RLS on this report, so I don’t believe that is the issue. I only mention this as some help threads discuss this as a possible issue.Ā  I think I’ve narrowed down the cause of the issue to a particular DAX expression:
      Ā Ā Ā Ā  VARIANCE = SUM(Production[ProdQty]) – SUM(Sales[ShipQty])
      Ā Ā Ā Ā  VARIANCE% = SUM(Production[ProdQty])/SUM(Sales[ShipQty])

The visual is a simple table where row headers = [Month] & [DayNumberOfMonth]
      Values are = Production[ProdQty], Sales[ShipQty], VARIANCE Measure, VARIANC%

As I said before, this works at the desktop level and the workspace level, but fails when viewed as an App.Ā  Any thoughts or ideas?

      Respectfully,

      Hi Austin,
You probably checked permissions in the App space? Do you have Premium or not?
      This could help:Ā https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-9e8AtbSsM&vl=en

Any chanceĀ SUM(Sales[ShipQty]) is zero in your production dataset?

So I was able to resolve the issue by clicking “Reset to default” within the app. Thank you to everyone who provided possible solutions.
