I tried print screen from Power BI and printed out a blurry image in Power Point. Can anyone assist on this?
Note: I do not have Power BI corporate account. Currently using Power BI Desktop Free version.
Many Thanks.

Hi Junior One,I believe you can only do it with PowerBI services with a pro account using the following app :

The issue is of course, as with any image, maintaining the clarity when it is projected to a large size on a screen.Ā Therefore set your screen resolution as high as possible, and then collapse the ribbon in Power BI and the fields, visualisations and filters pane, maximise the visual using the focus mode (or set it to be a full page in size) and then windows snipping tool or similar to capture the image.Ā Basically you want the image you are capturing to be as large as possible.Ā If you have an external monitor attached to your laptop then these typically have a larger resolution than the inbuilt screen, so make sure you use that one when you are capturing the image.——————————

Hi
I am using PBI desktop for Report server (Rather than service) but I assume it’s the same in both versions.
There is an option to export, and save it as a PDF, you basically get each PBI tab in a new page. You can take the images from this as they tend to be fairly good quality if you are not trying to scale them up too big.Alternative is to use Snipping tool in Windows. This is my normal go-to solution. But again if you are going to put the image in PowerPoint then make it larger, you will lose quality, so ensure that the visual is big enough to start with in your PBIX file, then snip it.?

To me, the ideal situation (and I think what you’re asking) is a similar experience as copying and pasting into Power Point like we can do with Excel where the formatting is maintained and even a link to the data source can be established. Unfortunately, that same experience is not yet available with Power BI in either desktop, report server, or in the PBI service. You can always take screenshots with tools like Snagit, but that’s just a bandaid in my opinion. I’d encourage you to check out the Power BI Ideas and vote on this one, it’s been suggested a number of times

As some have mentioned if you’re going to do a screen capture make the image as big as possible and use the highest resolution monitor to give you the best picture.I actually had to do this yesterday and the desire was also to take a PowerBI dashboard image and blow it up to poster size. Our plotter only recognizes PDF files so I had to make a screen capture and put the image into Word and then turn it into a PDF file order the plot it. Clearly something gets lost in the translation as the image is fuzzy when you blowed up. Probably not as big an issue if you’re simply embedding the picture into a PowerPoint file.
PowerBI desktop allows you to export files into PDF format so I exported the dashboard and let PowerBI generate the PDF file directly. I then printed out at the poster size and the image was crystal clear, including all the small fonts. Obviously the PDF process built into PowerBI give you the best outcome in terms of overall image quality.

Edit: sorry, missed the part about the free version.Ā This is unlikely to work in that case.
I found the clearest and best way to get visualizations from Power BI into PP is to first publish your Power BI doc.Ā Then, through the browser interface you can export directly to PP.Ā If you have multiple report pages you can hide the ones you don’t want to export.Ā Power BI will automatically link your visualization back to Power BI, so if you have a boss who uses a mouse to advance slides make sure you remove the link.?Ā In short, while you cannot export to PP directly from desktop, you can export to PP after you publish through the web application.——————————
