TIPS AND TRICKS FOR SUMMIT
Posted by Jo deRuiter on August 14, 2019 at 8:42 am-
I wanted to start a thread so that those of us going to and those of us hoping to go to Summit can share our best Tips and Tricks for Summit.
One of my favorite’s is PLANNING for Summit.
When you are logged in, after you register here: https://na.usergroupsummit.com/home
Go to the Schedule page for GPUG.
You can register on the scheduling page separately and then mark your “Favorite” courses by clicking the Star next to the course or activity:
Once you’ve marked your selections, click on the “My Schedule” button and you can export the choices to a number of places, including your Outlook Calendar.
Here is what my calendar looks like AFTER I exported it to Outlook. In this way you can quickly see if sessions you want to attend overlap each other and you can make sure your other appointments that week are also managed well. Not to mention, outlook can remind you what session is next! Once they have updated the schedule with the Rooms, you can re-export and the room you need to be in will also appear on the outlook appointment!
Other veterans of Summit! Please Share YOUR best tips and tricks for summit!!!

I recommend going to Play Store and downloading the Dynamics Communities Events app for your smartphone.
Once the GPUG Summit event is available, you can favorite your classes for each day and get room/instructor information for each session.——————————

Hi, !As ?? says, don’t miss out on the Advanced Networking Opportunities (ANO’s)! Plenty of the Vendors in the Expo Hall will advertise their soirées, parties, affairs, fêtes, bashes, bacchanals, revels, and receptions that’ll be going on every night. Some are quite elaborate.
Then there are the more localized ANO’s: dinners with your peers or with UG members from your state. If you’re a Chapter Leader, then there’s a UG Volunteer recognition event to attend.
I imagine that there would be trips to nearby touristy hot spots. Last year in Phoenix, a group of GPUGgers went to the Grand Canyon. In Orlando there’s Sea World, Universal Studios, LegoLand, GatorLand, and Disney World. No doubt groups of your peers will be going.
Of course there’s the opening night Expo Hall Reception. You’ll get drink tickets with your registration materials. Food will be served up at various locations throughout the Hall. It’s a nice time to wander, nosh on your favorite dishes, imbibe an adult beverage, hobnob with the mucky-mucks, and check out the great GPUG sponsors.
Personally, I’ll be stationed in the GPUG booth during the Expo Hall Reception offering samples of scotch as I’ve done for the past couple of years. Come by and have a wee dram!
Sincerely,
