Is there a way to upload a stock count into GP without keying in each individual line?  We will end up with an excel spreadsheet that will have item number and quantity and i’m looking for a way to prevent duplicate data entry.

Hi Andy, 

We’ve been doing the count in a protected excel with an sql query and macro to upload to GP.  It’s not optimal in terms of security, but it beats entering it manually. 
Following the thread to see if there’s a more legitimate way of doing it.

Hello .

We have done this for a number of customers, right from Excel (using macros). Not rocket science since there is only one table to deal with.  If you need this, I can talk to my developer and see if we can share something like that.

Have SmartConnect by chance ? We built a nifty solution that I’d be willing so share that uses as SSRS report that we export to Excel>> Complete the count in Excel>> then load back into GP via SmartConnect.? 

As already mentioned, it’s “technically” not overly difficult to setup as the stock count process is confined to just a few tables.
