      ??Hello everyone,
We have a SmartConnect map that will run for approximately 10 minutes and then gives us the message “There was an error reading from the pipe: The pipe has been ended”.

This causes the process to be halted.
We have researched this and we are trying to get a grab on what causes this certain error.

      Any assistance will be appreciated.
      Steve

      Steve,

The eConnect for Microsoft Dynamics GP Integration Service is a WCF service.Ā AĀ connection can remain inactive, during which no application messages are received, before it is dropped after 10 minutes. This is by default.

      RESOLUTION

AddĀ receiveTimeout=”infinite”Ā to the Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.eConnect.Service.exe.config file for the eConnect Integration service. The binding section shouldĀ resemble this:

      <binding name=”eConnectNamedPipeConfig” closeTimeout=”00:10:00″ sendTimeout=”00:10:00″ receiveTimeout =”infinite” transferMode=”Buffered” hostNameComparisonMode=”StrongWildcard”Ā maxBufferPoolSize=”2147483647″ maxBufferSize=”2147483647″ maxReceivedMessageSize=”2147483647″><readerQuotas maxDepth=”60″ maxStringContentLength=”2147483647″maxArrayLength=”2147483647″ maxBytesPerRead=”2147483647″ maxNameTableCharCount=”2147483647″ /><security mode=”Transport”><transport protectionLevel=”EncryptAndSign” /></security>
      </binding>

      ?Thanks Vinod.
We realized that this is what we had in there previously.
When we made the previous changes then here is the error we receive now.

“The transaction associated with the current connection has completed but has not been disposed. The transaction must be disposed before the connection can be used to execute SQL statements.”

      Any advice will be appreciated.
      Steve

?At this point you need to find out why things are timing out.Ā  You can try to do it yourself by using SQL Profiler to find out the actual SQLĀ statements being sent to the engine – there could be a problem in the way the transactions are crafted or it could be just a matter of sheer volume.Ā  The other option is to contact Support and ask them for assistance.

      Hi Steve,

Here is a link that helped me resolved the same issue I had with SmartConnect.

Tech Tuesday: Importing Large Documents Using SmartConnect | eOne Solutions

It will point you to the different eConnect configuration that could be the possible caused of your issue.

      I hope this helps.

      Kind regards,
