Does anyone know a way to prevent a user from closing/processing a Quick MO in which doing so would drive the quantities for the components negative? Is there any setting to have a warning window pop up?

      I am running GP 2013 r2.

      ?Hi Kristofer,

YesĀ – the only way that I am aware is thru an add-on Inventory Management solution such as our WithoutWire Inventory Sciences.Ā  When you are ready to commit a transaction, our system (via a iOS or Android mobile device or our web console interface) will warn the user that their is not enough inventory in the production area to complete the transaction.Ā  This can prompt a move of more raw materials intoĀ your production area if you have the available materials.

      See also the attached.

      Kristofer,

There is setting involved in the scenario where you wish to prevent a quick mo from driving inventory negative with a warning to the user.

“Item doesn’t have a sufficient quantity available at this site to meet this requirement.”

Inventory >> Setup >> Inventory Control – The box for Allow Adjustment Overrides is NOT checked.

There isn’t a “Quick MO Specific” setting. It uses the setting from above as is the case with all the potential Inventory Transactions.

      Thanks,

      Rob,
That option works out great. Here is the result:

When someone tries to process an MO with not enough quantity for one of the components, the system will pop up a message that says:

“Item xxxx doesn’t have a sufficient quantity available at this site to meet this requirement.”

Afterwards, this option will prevent the closing of the MO in which it will say:

“The manufacturing order cannot be closed because there is a shortage of item xxxxx”

I work for business in which we mostly make products to order and not have them in stock. I was concerned that this would affect the sales order processing, but it seems like it works out just fine.

      Thanks for your help!
