We are running GP in a Terminal Server environment and recently many users are reporting than when they login to GP the first thing in the morning they are seeing the message. Ā Ā Ā Ā Processes are currently being run that cannot be deleted. These processes must be run to completion before you exit.
They simply hit OK and continue to work.
Any idea why they would be seeing this?
I have attached a screenshot of the message as well.

My SWAG (Scientific Wild-Ass Guess)? is that when the users attempted to exit GP the previous evening, it did not actually quit on the terminal server. So when they log in the next day, GP is still running and they see the “Processes are currently being run” message from last night.
Another SWAG would be that there was a problem posting a batch, but a problem that doesn’t cause the user any obvious problem… but may lead to a Batch Recovery.
In addition to using the Process Monitor, many people don’t know about the “Close all Windows” function in Dynamics GP.Ā It can be very helpful in closing everything before trying to exit from Dynamics GP – especially since many people have a half dozen windows open at any given time.
Note – I’ve seen this window quite frequently when the user prints a report which takes a few minutes to load and display.Ā This can be anything from simply printing an invoice to running a Smartlist.Ā I’ve had to advise my users to be patient.Ā They do have to close the report before attempting to exit Dynamics GP to avoid this message.
