I am working with a customer who came across an issue that I am not able to reproduce but have been told has happened before.Ā Ā
There are a number of PO lines (in the POP10110 table) that show the LineNumber as a negative.Ā The top query results are from a production database showing the negative number.Ā The bottom query results are from a backup of that production company.Ā As you can see, these values were originally what one would expect to see.Ā There are over 700 POs that this has occurred to.Ā Ā
Ā
Has anyone ever seen this before?Ā If so, do you happen to know what the cause is?Ā A reconcile does correct the issue but we are trying to understand why it happened in the first place.Ā Ā
Thank you!Ā

The only time I’ve seen something similar happen is when a client had someone else write a custom integration to create and update/modifyĀ the PO.Ā They were using some wonky calculations in the integration that would cause the “update” part of the run to change the numbers and sometimes they turned negative.
Any chance you’ve got customizations that interact with the PO on some level?
Thank you for your response.Ā This customer definitely has a customization (written by Microsoft many, many years ago) ?that does update/modify the PO.Ā I will look into this and see what it might be doing with the Line Number.Ā
Thank you again for the suggestion!Ā
