      Hello Ā all:

Any of you have implemented multi-lingual payroll checks? We have a customer that needs amount in words for payroll checks in French. Makorma Checks does not have this, but I think it’s more a GP limitation. The only option I see now, is to use VBA to write the amount in words in regular Report Writer checks, but I would prefer to avoid this.

      Thanks,
      Carlos.

      Hi Carlos,
GP supports natively I believe the written amount in Cheques for the internal cheque stub format, as long as you install the ML Check module (multi-lingual cheque support).
We used to have that, but have replaced that many years ago by Mekorma MICR..

This blog post may help too : http://waqasb.blogspot.ca/2009/11/computer-check-in-arabic-language-in.html
It addresses the issue of printing cheques in Arabic language.. but the same rules apply (more or less) to the French side of things, except for the SQL server collation.Ā  Multicurrency needs to be enabled of course to support this..

PS: as for the Mekorma Check Configurator, you may open a support call with them to validate what those options means.. since it looks like there are 4 different types of ‘Amount in Words’ available :

      HelloĀ Beat:

I’m aware of Multi-lingual checks and use it in a daily basis in payables, but it simply does not work with US Payroll,Ā natively in GP or with Mekorma Checks. I didn’t knew this didn’t work because this is the first implementation I’ve made that requires French amount in words on Payroll. I currently have a support case open with Mekorma, but they have not give us a solution for yet.

      Thanks!
      Carlos.
