      ?Hello everyone,

We have recently tried to use the Manufacturing Component Transaction Entry for Raw material issuance. It has worked flawlessly on around a dozen Manufacturing Orders, but recently has given us problems. The problem we are having is with our third party software Highjump. After we received about half of the quantity on the manufacturing order, we would get an error in Highjump that would state “Not enough component QTY picked”. After double checking the issued quantity in GP, it appears that there is in fact enough component picked. We are able to do MO receipts in GP, so this leads me to believe the problem is with how GP and Highjump are talking.

Has anyone ran into this issue before? Both myself and IT are stumped. I can provide more information if the above paragraph is too vague. We are using GP Version 2018 and Highjump Version 3.12.4.3 #Manufacturing ?? Thanks Richard

      Hi Richard,
I’ve never used Highjump before (though heard about it).. so can’t really speak about it. But definitely this should be raised as a support case with Highjump IMHO.
Maybe can jump in to answer the question, as Manufacturing is his special domain šŸ™‚

Thanks for your response! We have reached out to Highjump support and they are working with us on it. They’ve duplicated our settings in both GP and Highjump and are trying to recreate the scenario to try and debug. I wasn’t sure if someone on this forum had a similar issue but thought it couldn’t hurt to reach out!

Thanks Richard for keeping us in the loop.
Still interested for the community to know what the culprit is, if they can nail it down.

Definitely. I will be working with IT more on this later in the week, we were more or less waiting for a response from Highjump before we started any more digging. I’ll keep everyone updated

      Thanks again
      Richard

      Richard,

I have used HighJump in the past and it performed very well in manufacturing environments.Ā  As far as how HighJump and GP “talk”, consider that HighJump is just a comfortable interface in which you generate standard GP Inventory and Manufacturing transactions.Ā  HighJump can provide more business process controls than GP, but when it comes to transactions it strictly adhere’s to GP business logic.

Without knowing the complexities of your BOM’s and your assembly steps (Routings, Work centers), it would be hard to know what is going wrong.
So if you goĀ Inquiry >> Manufacturing >> Manufacturing Orders >> Component Trx Inquiry, you can see that you issued enough material?

Beat is correct in saying that HighJump will help you figure this out.Ā  They were always good to work with.

What is odd to me is that it worked for a while, then all of a sudden just stopped without any changes to the settings. I double checked the Component Trx Inquiry and it showed that we had enough material issued. IT found something in the scripting that showed at a certain point Highjump was looking for an alternate for one of the BOM components, even though there was no alternate ever assigned.Ā

As you and Beat suggested, we are working with Highjump support now. But I was curious if anyone on this forum had a similar issue.

I’ll let you know what we find! Thanks for your response!
