I am trying to import data from an expense program as journal entries into GP using Integration Manager.Ā The file only contains the debit (expense) side of the entry.Ā There may be one line or multiple lines per journal entry.Ā The credit side of the entry would always be the same account and the total of the debits, however that is not in the file.Ā Can I use a script or some other method to get the credit portion of the entry to populate with the integration?Ā Thank you.

Yes.Ā You absolutely can.Ā The below link has steps and screenshots.Ā I understand you are probably not integrating with AA but that doesn’t matter.Ā Step 33 shows you that if you only have one amount field, you can map both the debit and credit to the same field and but use the option for either positive or negative.Ā Ā
Also, I have done integrations into AP or AR, for example, where there is only one amount field but the distributions require more work than just using the options listed in Step 33.Ā For these, I have had to use various scripts but it has allowed me to import the amounts and accounts, as needed for those situations.Ā Ā
Depending on your specific needs, Integration Manager rules may suffice.Ā When they don’t, then using scripts can make it work for you.Ā
Good luck!
