Who is using Dynamics GP for the food industry such as protien / meat processors / manufactures?  Are you using a 3rd party manufacturing solutions which allows the BOM to support flexible raw material item or alternate routes to the same finished good?  Also is this alternate supported in demand planning both for purchasing and production planning (scheduling)?  The two items I am making inquiries on are catch weight at the case / lot level and tracking both pack date and kill date through the stages of production until consumed?

I had a client using Vicinity Manufacturing. They manufactured protein shake mix and stuff like that you find in vitamin stores. They were sold to another company so I don’t know what they use today.

You can also check out BatchMaster.

      Ronald

We have worked with many food manufacturers and distributors including catch weights and lots.  Let me know if you want more information.

Here is a link to a video on our catch weights functionality.

      Hi Rod,

Another approach to GP Manufacturing can be through robust Warehouse Management Solutions such as WithoutWire Inventory Sciences.  PO Receiving of Raw Materials with Lot, Manufacture date and Expiration or Sell by dates, country of origin or other item attributes.  Manufacturing with lot tracked item (beef or steaks) creation and item attribute capture such as catch weights, manufacture date or sell by date.

Feel free to reach out to me.

      My Best,
