I added 3 assets in February all through the entry method of entering an invoice posting to 1601-999-999-99 F/A Clearing and set up each asset as a new number.Ā  I just realized 3 separate things happened. 1. Asset #1038 worked perfectly – moved over to correct GP asset # I specified in the Card in GP.Ā  2. Asset #1039 moved into correct GP asset # I specified – but remained in #1601-999-999-99 F/A Wash Account and then did an offset to Gain on Disposal of Assets – not sure why or what I did wrong there.Ā  But at least I can make an entry between the clearing account and the Gain account – and that will clear that up.Ā  3.Ā  Asset # 1037 did not move out of 1601-999-999-99 either – but I can’t see where the offset went. This asset I put a “prior period” placed in service date on January 18,2021 but added it to the F/A system on 2/23/21- that’s the only difference I can see.
All 3 assets calculated depreciation for the month and seem correct on that end.?
Any ideas where #3 went wrong and how I correct it?Ā  I only found these because my balance sheet is out of balance so I went digging. So making an entry from #1601 to #1754 is not going to correct my balance sheet out of balance – so I am guessing it went somewhere else.Ā

      Thanks for any help,

      Hi

?”I added 3 assets in February all through the entry method of entering an invoice posting to 1601-999-999-99 F/A Clearing and set up each asset as a new number. “

When you ‘added’ them, did you use the Purchasing Table dropdown to add them or did you just hand-key in a new asset?

This addition using the Purchasing Drop down is what clears out the FA Clearing Account.

      Hi Jo,

I did use the drop down.Ā  I figured out that’s why my second went to Disposals because then I voided it to re-enter and start over.Ā  But for my last one I can’t see where it went wrong.Ā  It is in the fixed asset list correctly, and is depreciating correctly.Ā  So how could it have gotten into Fixed Assets without zeroing out my F/A Clearing account?

      Thank you!
      Joann

      Hi

Has anyone made any config changes to Fixed Assets?

Can you send screenshots of the Financial>Setup>Fixed Assets>Company window?

Can you check the Accounts setup for that asset to see if the accounts are correct??
