We ran GP Power Tools’ Database Validation which surfaced a number of tables that exist in our GP database that didn’t ie to anything in the dictionary.

I know what the typical table prefixes stand for & their source (PM, GL, AA, etc) but is anyone aware of a source that perhaps lists all known GP & ISV table prefixes? I know this might be impractical to have ever been assembled but figured I’d throw the question out there…

In our situation, I’m confident that what’s out there is old ISV tables but I’d love to be able to pinpoint which one & ultimately rid our DB of the junk.

While ISV sound a bit odd, check what other 3rd party products are running on the system.  
Did your current/past VAR do any development for you that required adjunct tables to support that development.
We generally named tables something that would indicate it belonged to the client company.  For instance if we did something for your company, CGB, we would have named tables CGB00100, CGB00101, CGB00200, etc.,

Hi Kyle,

There are a couple ways to see the tables that compose of the data you are looking for.  Here are screen shots of those ways.  The first is using the built in GP resource.

This will allow you to select the dictionary that you want information on.

Next is using the utility provided if you have Smartlist builder.  Any window you open can be diagnosed with the corresponding tables attached.  

Now you can see all the tables that are used on that screen

Hi All

GP Power Tools Database Validation can identify tables that exist at the SQL level but don’t have an associated Dexterity table definition in the loaded product dictionary.

GP Power Tools also has an extremely powerful Resource Information window with Resource Explorer as will as a new Resource Finder window (Build 28 onwards).

However, if the tables are not included in a dictionary then the built in Resource Description windows or the GPPT windows will not help as they can only see the definitions of tables in the loaded dictionaries.

Can you provide examples of the names of the tables you have found?
