Error “Message #32539 missing”
Posted by Shari Bruno on September 19, 2018 at 12:42 pm-
?Good Morning!
I did not have security privileges to add SmartView favorites to the Quick Links section of my Home Page. Our SA opened that security, and I can get to the list of SmartView favorites, but when I try to add one I get the error message below:
This is something that myself and our SA have not seen in almost 15 years of using GP. Can someone shed light on this?
Thanks!

Hi
You are definitely meaning SmartView and not SmartList, right?Ā Ā If so, this may be an issue you need to take to eOne.?

I had a client who recently ran into this same error, but it was inside of the “Smartlist” window in GP.Ā Ā It was on the 4 columns for their segment descriptions in all of their GL smartlists.I thought this message was in the dynamics..messages table… Nope, that one doesn’t go up that high, only to like 19,000ish.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā It turns out that message missing was IN THE SMARTLIST favorites TABLE itself!Ā Ā (ASIEXP86 to be exact).Ā The column is called ASI_Column_Display_Name.Ā Ā Search SQL in that table for ‘%missing%’ and see if anything comes up.. to be more precise:
select * from dynamics..ASIEXP86 where ASI_Column_Display_Name LIKE ‘%missing%’
Did your client recently do a GP upgrade?Ā There have been issues with the smartlist tables since GP 2015R2 that have been documented on numerous support posts and involve workarounds that will often cause the column labels to go byebye and be replaced by this “message #Ā missing” error.

Thanks for the information
?In this case I’m the client. We upgraded to 2016 R2 last year so I don’t think this message is related to the upgrade. What you say about missing column names makes sense.Ā I know that some of the SmartList reports that people have brought over to SmartView have had issues with the columns and maybe that’s triggering the error when I’m attempting to create SmartView favorites. Unfortunately I don’t know which SmartViews might have the problem, but I’ll pass along the SQL table searchĀ to our SA and see what he comes up with.
Thanks again!
