GP 2016:Is there a way to see the audit trail for employee card changes in GP.
Say you changed their benefits, address or W4, does GP have to history on this that you can generate a report for per pay period or ??Thanks

Tammy,
I just did a webinar on this very topic. https://www.bkd.com/webinar/2019/08/tracking-controlling-data-changes-dynamics-gp
There is a downloadable tool from Microsoft called DetailPayrollActivityTracking. It is a series of triggers that are installed on payroll tables, the Direct Deposit tables, and the HR Benefit Enrollment tables.
If you send me an e-mail at callen@bkd.com I’ll send the tool. You’ll need a SQL Server admin to implement it for you. there’s no default report but a SmartList can be created to view the data.

Hi Tammy,
I have used that tool successfully for several clients. I usually expose the audit data it creates in a custom SmartList, using SmartList Designer or SmartList Builder.

Hi Mark;
Which tool are you referring to the DetailPayrollActivityTracking that Mr. Allen was referring to or is there a smartlist already in GP for me to utilize?

TheĀ DetailPayrollActivityTrackingĀ tool creates a SQL table to store the records created by the triggers. For example, it will store the date and time of the change, the user ID, the before and after values, and the table and fields affected.
