Too many times our sales staff fail to change the Batch ID for a Sales order because it will default to the previous Sales Orders Batch ID they were viewing before creating a new order. They either forget or don’t put in the correct Batch ID when they go to another order that has a batch ID they are not suppose to be using. Is there a setting or way to have the batch ID field always be blank when you save a sales order and the screen is blank ready for you to enter a new order?
Thanks.

I didn’t test it so I’m not 100% sure that Modifier would let you switch the SaveOnRestart property to false (it doesn’t let you do some things). But even if it did – i wouldn’t use it to change THIS particular value.
The reason is that when you enter in a batch number, GP writes a record into the Batch Activity table and probably changes the SY00500 record as well. Then if you switch batches, it removes those changes and makes the same changes to the new one.
If you switch the “Save On Restart” property, the records would get written but not released properly (since GP didn’t expect this change) causing problems you don’t want. Your best bet would be to do something like David suggest using PowerTools, VBA, vstools, or use Extender Enterprise to write that same ‘event’ to clear the field. That way the GP scripting sees that it happens and clear the GP records properly the same as if the user did it manually.
