Hi GP friends, I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to provide remittances to our vendors in CTX format, inherent to GP, without having to use a third-party EDI provider? Currently we pay vendors via ACH and send a text file to Wells Fargo with the payment information, and email the standard GP remittance form to the vendor. More and more vendors are asking us to send CTX formatted remittances instead of emailed forms, so they can fully automate their payment application process. Has anybody done this without the use of EDI?

Hi Joe, I’ve been using EDI formats many years ago with GP, and the CTX format looks nothing else than an EDI format, just called & coded differently.Ā CTX_Parcel_Payment_Guide.pdf (fedex.com) andĀ here Treasury Software and also here : Slide 1 (georgiapower.com) TBH, when looking at those definitions, I don’t see an easy way you’d be able to produce those files out of GP without a lot of manipulation.. There are likely 3rd-party software that you can install that would allow you to pull data from GP and generate those CTX files..Ā

I’ve done both EDI and worked with Wells Fargo specifically for ACH and check payments.Ā You’re welcome to contact me directly and I can show you what we send them every day.Ā It was all developed by me to conform to the bank’s specifications.
