We’re working on a project to improve a specific process internally, and I was asked whether there’s a way to exclude specific Sales Orders from appearing on the MRP workbench.
We know that at the Inventory site level, and at the item/site level, we can choose whether to calculate MRP. This is not an ideal solution for our project.
Does a similar choice exist for sales orders? Whether it’s by customer? or perhaps based on a sales order Type ID? To be able to exclude from MRP?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Maria,
I don’t believe there is any way to selectively choose which Sales Orders get used by MRP. The only way I can think of achieving what you are talking about is possibly through Back Orders. I believe if you back ordered these SO’s then you can select MRP to ignore back orders.
I believe the setting to have MRP ignore back orders is under Setup->Manufacturing->System Preferences->MRP, and there is a checkbox for “Put SO Back Orders in Firm Buckets”.
I am not sure this would accomplish what you are looking for. The only way I can think of accomplishing what you are looking for is by making the SO’s in a different site.
