Ok I’m at the peak of frustration. I’ve relocated three fields in Report Writer; Comments1 & 2 to the Report Header (RH), and F/O Document Amount to the Page Footer (PF) section.  I’ve generated a new XML, and processed it through Templategenerator.  I open my template and from the Developer section review my field placement is appearing in the document sections I’ve designated.  I then drag my fields into their appropriate placement.  Comments are coming out fine but nothing seems to work for document amount being set into Word Page Footer…  In Report Writer there’s a check box “Use RF for Last PF”, I’ve toggled that back and forth but doesn’t seem to help.   Has anyone successfully placed fields into Page Footer and know what is required.

You really don’t ever need to use the word template generator ever again. It’s too complicated. Simply add to your Dex.ini IsWebClient=TRUE then run the report and GP will automatically create the template if and only if a template doesn’t already exist for the report, modified report or alternate. We suggest that you use the layout from the ootb report (because it has special format), so copy content controls from one document to the other. Make sure both documents have the same report xml schema. Recommend you check Word Templates – Invoice Totals on Last Page only – Microsoft Dynamics GP Community Forum for your footer in case you need to suppress fields in template footers.

      Thanks,

I came across this problem as well.  I did get the total to print in the footer, but sometimes it would not print if there were too many line items or it would print a second page when one was not needed.  It would also state 2 of 1 pages in the page count.   To get it to print at the bottom I made sure the bookmark ‘EndTemplateDocumentBookmark’ was in the table I wanted printed on the last page.  I then right clicked on the table, selected table properties, selected text wrapping ‘around’.  Then select positioning, and changed vertical position to 7.25(this will be different depending on size of footer), and set relative to ‘to margin’.  Hope I understood your problem correctly and hopefully this helps.
