I’m looking to add the PO Note field to a smart list however I’m unable to find where the data is stored.Ā  Does anyone know how to add this?Ā  I’m currently using GP 2015.

PO Comment want to show in Smartlist

, using table finder, it appears that those note fields are kept in system tables – SY00700 and SY03900.

      Hi Michelle,

SY03900 (Record Notes Master) is indeed the table you are looking for (and “txtfield” is the field the stores it).
I don’t think that this field is available in the default Smartlists… so there’s a need to use either SmartList Builder or SmartList Designer to link the above table (via the NoteIndex field).

      Regards,

      Hi ?

These guys are right – you will need to either obtain SmartList Builder and bring in the Note field (in SL Builder you do not need to ‘join’ on the SY03900 because their software does that for you).

OR you can build a custom view, by using the existing PO view, naming it something else, add the column from the PO Table called NoteIndx and using a “Join” on the noteindx to the SY03900 talble and the voila!Ā  You have a report with the notes “String” in it as opposed to the “index”

One thing to be aware of if you are using SmartList Builder, if the note is showing a number, that is likely the Note Index, the number GP uses to tie a note back to the notes table. To display the note text, go into the Modify Window of SmartList Builder, highlight the note column and click the Blue Arrow. There will be a box that reads “Note Index – Show Note”. Likely this is not checked. Check it and save the SmartList, and it should now show the text of the note, rather than the index.

Ok. I’m trying to use SmartList Builder however I think I’m still doing something incorrectly because I don’t see any data populating and it has something to do with SY03900 and most likely how it’s joined.Ā  Currently I have the following where Purchase Orders = Purchase Order Comment (POP Number = PO Number) and Purchase Orders = SY03900 (NOTEINDX = Note Index from Customer Master)Ā
