1099-NEC –> 3-Up instead of 2-Up

It appears the Federal Government has changed the 1099-NEC form from 2-Up to a 3-up this year.  Our GP still prints the 1099-NEC in 2-Up format.  I have not seen an update to correct this.  Has anyone found a work around for this?

The new report format is in the 2021 YE update.  Why could they not just make the new format available on its own? I don’t know but we have to try to find time to rush in an update in time for the 1099s.

We found that out at the last minute as well. We have decided to use 1099Pro to print the 1099 NEC and 1099 Misc.
The excel format that 1099Pro needs is fairly straight forward. The S/W costs little to purchase.
Let me know if you would like a copy of the SQL views to use.

RE: YE update, yes that is a huge undertaking as we have to test all the ISVs and custom functionality pieces before rolling out to a live system.

Linda and Brian:

1. Point the SQL view attached to your Company DB (found in the first line of the sql script).
2. Run the query.
3. Output the results to excel.
4. Feed the above excel to 1099Pro software.

Please note the output will have a redundant column called year, that can be used to filter out data.
It will not hurt the 1099Pro processing if you leave that column in there.
